Replacing Storm Door Hinges

Replacing your storm door hinges can be done in no time at all by following the instructions below.

Remove Storm Door

Using the screwdriver, tap the hinge pins to remove them. Then simply slide the door up from the hinges to remove.

Unscrew Hinges

Unscrew the hinge that you want to replace from the wall and the storm door.

Install New Storm Door Hinges

If you purchased the same type of storm door hinges, then simply line up where the old hinges were and screw it into the wall and the storm door. If you are installing a different type of hinge, you will need to measure the spot of installation on the wall and the door to make sure that the hinges match up before screwing them in.

Replace Door

Slide the door back onto the hinges. Before securing with the hinge pins, use a level to make sure that the door is even. Put in pins and test the door to make sure that it opens and closes smoothly.
