Polished porcelain tile is a durable material that requires minimal effort to keep clean. These tiles can become dull over time. You can prevent this situation by sealing the tiles during the installation process. Use a good product to seal the surface of the tiles before you apply the grout.
Step 1 – Preparing the Sealer
Be sure to use a sealer that is designed specifically for polished porcelain tiles. Read the instructions provided by the sealer before you begin. Make sure the room is well ventilated. Carefully pour the sealer into your paint tray.
Step 2 – Applying the Sealer
If necessary, attach a long handle to your paint roller. Dip your paint roller into the sealer. Use the roller to apply the sealer to the tiles, Work in long, even strokes. Be sure to cover the entire area. Allow the sealer to penetrate into the porcelain tiles for about ten minutes.
Step 3 – Removing Excess Sealer
Use your cleaning cloth to remove any excess sealer from the surface of the tiles. Rub off the sealer and polish the surface of the tiles. Once the sealing process is complete, you can grout the tiles.
