What You'll Need
Sponge
Bleach
Water
Bucket
Shop broom or scrub brush
Power washer
Rubber gloves
Safety glasses
Face mask

When you have a sidewalk in front of yourself it is usually your responsibility to take care of the sidewalk maintenance. Since a sidewalk is outside all of the time it is no surprise that mold will form. Conducting sidewalk maintenance yourself to remove this mold is easy and this article will show you how.

Step 1 - Mix the Solution

Bleach is a clean-all for many stains and biological issues which includes mold and mildew. Its caustic nature is a must for sidewalk maintenance. Never use straight bleach on a stain though. Mix one cup of bleach to one gallon of cool water. Make sure you use your mask and goggles even though this is a mild solution.

Step 2 - Application

Wear your safety gear which now should include the gloves. Take the bucket of bleach water to the sidewalk and use the sponge to wipe down the area where the mold is present. Use the shop broom or scrub brush to scrub the area.

Step 3 - Clean off the Mold

Wait for the mold to turn white, but before the bleach dries. Spray the area down with the power washer.
