Screen door parts are something that you should keep handy in case a repair comes necessary. They are relatively inexpensive and having them handy can prevent further damage by enabling you to make repairs now instead of waiting until you can go to the store.
As with anything else, when a problem occurs, the faster you are able to make a repair, the less chance there is of further damage occurring. The same is true of your screen door and that’s why you should keep some simple screen door parts handy.
This is not an all inclusive list, but some of the most common points of failure are:
- screen – children pushing on them or otherwise jumping bumping the screen can cause it to tear. Having some extra screen around to make the repair quickly will prevent pests from entering the house and will keep your door looking great
- door closer – the pneumatic door closer is a common point of failure. The door gets used a lot and so the pneumatic closer will wear and not function properly. Quickly repairing this will keep further damage from occurring such as the wind catching the door and possibly forcing complete replacement.
- hinge – sometimes hinges will get twisted if the wind catches the door. Having additional hinge hardware on hand will allow for a quick fix.
An Ounce of Prevention
Having this simple and inexpensive screen door parts on hand to make repairs as need can save you a great deal of money in the end by preventing the need to purchase and install an entire new screen door.
