Steam room construction is an easy task, whether you are adding it to your new home or renovating your old one. More and more people are constructing steam rooms in their homes because of their health and financial benefits. They can also add value to your home. However, there are certain mistakes you need to avoid, when constructing a steam room.

1 - Keeping the Shower Area Open

Many people don’t even realize that they are making a big mistake by keeping the shower area open. A steam room, as the name suggests, must be a room. Also, the steam room will not work efficiently, if it is not sealed properly. You should also insulate it, to prevent the heat from escaping.

2 - Straight Ceiling

When you have a steam bath, the steam condenses on the ceiling. This will cause problems with mold and mildew in the future. Also, the condensed water will drip on the floor and the fixtures. So, when doing steam room construction, make a slope on the ceiling, so that the water falls into the room itself.

3 - No Proper Drainage

The condensed water that falls to the ground needs to be drained off to keep the room floor dry. So, when doing steam room construction, make sure you also install proper drainage mechanism. This will keep the floor dry, preventing the formation of mold and mildew. Make sure you avoid all the mistakes to use your steam room more efficiently.
