Steel Flower Buckets Filled with Gravel Make Fantastic Tiki Torch Anchors
If you have purchased a tiki torch for your yard you may be having some problems getting it to stand up straight. Or perhaps you have a cement or brick patio and no way to push the pole into the ground. You can solve this problem by using steel flower buckets and gravel to hold them in place. It will do a good job and add a decorative touch to your patio or yard.
Tools and Materials Needed:
- Steel flower bucket
- Gravel
- Tiki torch
Step 1 - Assemble the Torch
Most tiki torches come disassembled. Assemble the torch and move all your materials outdoors. Do not put oil in the torch yet.
Step 2 - Create Anchor
Set the tiki torch in the steel flower bucket, allowing the pole to sit in the bottom of the bucket. Fill the bucket with gravel, being sure that the torch remains perfectly vertical. Put in gravel until it reaches within 3 or 4 inches of the top.
To make the anchor more attractive, put large pebbles or rocks on top of the gravel to completely cover the top. Set the bucket where it will be used.
Step 3 - Light the Torch
Do not light the torch until you have it placed where you want it. Light the torch and enjoy!
