Obtain the Right Tools

- plastic drop cloth
- paint brushes

- a paint tray
Be sure that all of these items are on hand. The plastic drop cloth will protect areas around the brick while the painting is going on.
Clean the Bricks First
Before starting the paint job be sure to clean the bricks with the wire brush. This will get rid of any dirt or grime. Also be sure to clean between the joints.
Get the Right Paint
Always add paint thinner to your paint before painting thin brick. The paint should also be oil based since this will give it a satisfying look.
