Suspended Ceilings 6 - Fasteners and Hanger Wire
The Margin of Error is Thin
Now you are ready to attach the wire fasteners (eye hooks) and hanger wire that will support these runners. Screw the wire fasteners or eye hooks into the ceiling joists where the joists intersect the runner chalk lines. Your eye hooks can be placed in 4-inch intervals. You do not need a fastener at every intersection.
Thread your wire through these eye hooks and securely wrap it around itself three times. The wire should be long enough to extend below the level of the new ceiling at least 6-inches. Add extra hangers and wire at light fixtures, one for each corner or as instructed by the manufacturer.
