Multi-Material Drill Bits Premiere
Toting around different types of bits for different drilling tasks can be cumbersome, so every professional tradesman (and DIYer) needs a single bit that’s capable of drilling through multiple types of materials. Enter IRWIN® Tools and their introduction of a full line of multi-material drill bits. IRWIN Multi-Material drill bits will drill through just about any type of material out there, including brick, block, tile, metal, wood, laminate, plastic, and marble — they'll even drill through multiple materials at the same time. They have a unique diamond-ground, four-facet carbide tip with super-sharp cutting edges that guarantee centered starts with no walking, fast drilling, and excellent hole quality. The versatile bits have a double-milled flute that removes dust and debris quickly and efficiently, which not only increases drilling speed (with no clogging), but results in longer bit life as well. These bits are built tough for hammer drilling, but recommended for use in rotary mode. “For more than 125 years, IRWIN has been engineering and manufacturing all types of drill bits,” said Jon Schlosser, Director of Marketing for IRWIN Tools. “We literally talk to hundreds of professional tradesmen each year, simply to learn what’s most important to them on the jobsite. They repeatedly express frustration with having to carry around multiple types of drill bits, and switch out bits depending on a particular material they need to drill into at any given time. It’s time consuming and discouraging. With IRWIN’s new multi-material bits, tradesmen can drill through all sorts of materials with a single bit… There isn’t a skilled tradesman on the planet who won’t appreciate having these bits in his toolbox.” IRWIN Multi-Material drill bits are compatible with all standard 1/2" and 3/8” chuck drills. They are available in 3- to 5-inch jobber lengths and 16-inch extended length, with diameters ranging from 1/8 to 1/2 inches. They can be found at home centers, hardware stores, and construction and industrial tool distributors throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Backpack Tool Bag Coming Summer 2013
Need somewhere to store those new drill bits? Veto Pro Pac®, the leader in professional grade tool bags, introduced their first backpack tool bag, the TECH PAC – 1, at the 2013 AHR Expo in Dallas last month. Designed to enable technicians to safely and comfortably transport a variety of tools when servicing equipment accessible by extension or cage ladders, or in industrial buildings where walking long distances is required, the TECH PAC-1 features Veto Pro Pac’s patented center panel, heavy duty construction and stabilizing injection molded waterproof base that keeps tools dry, even in the nastiest of conditions. With 47 pockets inside and out, the TECH PAC-1 has ample room for hand tools, meters, parts boxes, cordless drills and impact drivers, as well as other bulkier items such as manifold gauges and hoses. The backpack features an innovative quick release handle that gives easy access to the tool bay compartment. The TECH PAC-1’s patented center panel design offers dual bays with two tool storage platforms in each bay. The center panel design with the main tool and meter storage options on each side centers and stabilizes the backpack. The TECH PAC-1, either when closed and ready for transportation or opened for quick and easy access, is designed not to tip over. The TECH PAC-1 is also made for comfort with a thermo-formed EVA padded back panel that helps cushion the load (which also provides structural stability), a padded load displacing shoulder strap system with multiple adjustment strap points and an ergonomic TPV rubber grip. The TECH PAC-1 is 21.5 inches high, 14 inches long, and 9.85 inches wide, and will be available at Veto Pro Pac dealers in Summer 2013.
