Tips for Applying Grout to Brick Veneer
To ensure that grout is correctly applied to brick veneer, it is necessary to bear in mind a few handy hints during the course of the project.
1. Clean Veneer
Prior to beginning the process of applying the grout to the brick veneer, take the opportunity to clear away any loose particles. This will ensure a clean application and result that is not marred by errant debris.
2. Follow Manufacturer Instructions
When using grout that you need to mix yourself, it is important to follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully. When the instructions are followed properly, the grout will also dry in the recommended time that the manufacturer states that it should be left.
When applying grout to brick veneer, it is easier to work with small amount of the substance at a time. It is necessary to gradually fill the recess using a flexible tool before smoothing it out to complete the task.
4. Remove Excess
While you work, have a damp sponge or cloth to hand to immediately wipe away any excess or mistakes before it is allowed to dry. Make sure that the cloth is only damp and not sodden as this can result in the grout becoming dislodged when it is wiped.
