Travel Electric Kettle

Both compact and lightweight, a travel electric kettle includes many of the same features found on household kitchen models. Ideal for those who do a lot of traveling for business or pleasure, travel kettles typically feature a universal adapter, meaning they can be used in different countries. Produced by many small appliance manufacturers, including Wahl, Black and Decker and Alpina, travel electric kettles start around $20 and can reach $80 for higher-quality units.

Features

Depending on the kettle, a travel model will include a powerful, concealed heating element, usually between 1,000 and 1,500 Watts. With ergonomically-designed, easy-grip handles, pouring a cup of tea is easy and comfortable. Some common features include a reset button, automatic shutoff circuit and power-on indicator. The heating element itself is usually made from durable, fast-conducting stainless steel. While select models feature a stainless steel kettle, many are crafted from heat-reinforced polypropylene that is virtually shatterproof.

Capacity and Accessories

Considering their size and application, travel electric kettles typically hold anywhere from 0.5 to 0.8 liters, which equals about 2 to 3 cups. For travelers on the go, electric kettles heat water quickly without hotspots. As an added bonus, many models include a pair of travel cups, perfect for taking along on the trip.
