Fire Tube Boilers

The hot tubes cause the water they are submerged in to boil. This type of boiler can be found from 20 to 800 boiler horsepower with a pressure up to 150 psi. The fire tuber boiler is primarily found in medium to large commercial or industrial uses. They can also either be steam or hot water boilers.
Water Tube Boilers
The majority of boiler types that are large and of high-pressure are water tube boilers. Water tube boilers have small tubes that can hold up to the high-pressure that is found in this type of boiler. The large tubes found in a fire tube boiler are too large and would break under the pressure. These types of boilers have tubes that are filled with water where heated gases move over the tubes. These tubes are connected to large drums or containers. Water tube boilers come in sizes that can be found in homes and in sizes large enough to be utility boilers. These boilers have a psi that ranges anywhere from 15 to over 3,500. These types of boilers can be found in oil, gas fired or coal.

Electric boilers come in kilowatt ratings from as high as 50,000 to as low as 5. These types of boilers provide a sufficient heat source for HVAC requirements. Electric boilers are useful for humidification applications as well as a primary heat sources. Electric boilers are more commonly known as hot water heates.
Cast Iron Boilers
This is the most durable boiler you can purchase. The boilers are available for residential and industrial use. They can be fitted with a coil for domestic use or be set on manifolds for commercial use. These boilers can provide either hot water or steam heat and use low-pressure.
