What Causes Car Wax Buffer to Leave Residue on the Trim? What Causes Car Wax Buffer to Leave Residue on the Trim?

When a car wax buffer leaves residue on the trim in your car, it is because of the polishing agents in the car wax buffer. When this occurs, you could potentially remove it with mineral spirits and a toothbrush or rag. It can leave residue during very cold or very warm temperatures outside. For example, if it is less than 45° Fahrenheit outside it can leave more of a residue than at other times. This can also happen when you polish the car in temperatures that are 85° Fahrenheit or above. It could also happen because you put too much of the wax on the car.
