What Does Brazilian Walnut Hardwood Look Like? What Does Brazilian Walnut Hardwood Look Like?
Brazilian walnut hardwood is a light brown colored wood that has tones from olive green to black running through it. These streaks are due to the natural oils contained in the wood. The stripes in the grain will look as though they have been painted on, when in fact it is the natural tone of the grain.
To keep the wood looking this color, you will need to apply teak oil at least once a year to keep the grain vibrant. Since Brazilian walnut is so durable, some people opt not to reapply the teak oil and allow it to age naturally, which will result in a gray patina.
