You can customize the look of your head rail. If you like your blinds to have an understated yet sophisticated appeal, you can use the flush inside mount blinds.
Types of Blinds
There are different styles of blinds to choose from. The most common inside mount blinds are made from plastic or metal. These are easy to clean and affordable. This type of blind is readily available in the market. This can be in vertical or horizontal form.
Another type of blinds is the Pleated blinds, instead of having separated slats; the blinds are pleated and folded like paper origami. The sides are buttoned-hole to fit the cord. If the slats are placed on top of each other, then this type is the Venetian blinds. Venetian blinds are similar to Persian blinds. Both are commonly used and available in the market. You can have the custom-made or you can purchase them in kits. Both of these blinds can rotate several degrees, giving you total control in letting enough sunlight in. You can also block sunlight seeping in your room, with these blinds.
Since these are prefabricated blinds, you can easily in install them onto the window casing by using a screwdriver to attach the screws and the blinds onto the window.
Before making any installations, however, you need to measure first the dimensions of the windows. It depends on which type of inside mount blinds you plan to use. If you are going to use the regular, consider the thickness of the head rail. All you need to measure are the inside perimeter of the window.
Since blinds are exposed to environmental dust and moisture, maintenance is important. The first thing you need to consider is the dirt. Use a duster to remove dirt caught between the slats. Also, if you have blinds in areas that have high temperature (kitchen, bathroom), check for residue caught between the blinds. Oil residue and dirt are not a good combination.
It would be best to clean your blinds twice every month. Give your blinds a bath; use a wet sponge and a bucket of soapy water and clean the slats one by one. Do not tug the cord because it could bend the slats. If that happens, use long-nose pliers to fold the slats back into shape and position.
