A self adhesive drywall patch is a great way to hide small cracks and holes in a piece of drywall. The patch will seal the hole and provide a smooth surface over which you can apply paint and other materials. A self adhesive drywall patch is very simple to understand and use.
What Is It?
A self adhesive drywall patch has two distinctive sides. One side is coated in aluminum, which will face away from the crack and provide the smooth surface for decoration. The other side is a sticky pad, which allows the user to peel away a small layer of plastic and place the sticky pad over the crack.
How to Use It
Once a drywall patch has been stuck in place it has to be sealed and prepared for decoration. This can be done by applying wall compound around the outer edges of the patch to seal it. You can use the same wall compound as an adhesive for any material going over the top of the drywall patch.
The main use of a self adhesive drywall patch is to cover small holes and cracks in order to prevent leaks. The patch fits over a crack and seals it air tight, preventing any moisture from leaking into the crack and drywall.
