A smart home is a home that is controlled by various home automation systems. The main controller is usually attached to many different integrated controllers all linked to a personal computer. A smart home controls most, if not all of the stand-alone duties by reacting to a voice command or signal received from a handheld remote control.
How can a Smart Home Benefit Me?
A smart home can perform many of the duties that the average person would perform on a daily basis. It can open the garage, turn the heat on or off, illuminate a darkened pathway and much more with just the click of a button. Aside from being controlled by a remote, the voice control feature can be beneficial to use on those days when the remote is not within distance. Speaking a simple phrase like “Goodnight” can trigger your smart home sensors to lower the heat, turn down the lights, lock the doors and set the alarm. How cool is that? Keep in mind, that many homes in America are not equip with this technology yet, but the popularity is growing fast. Smart home technology will more than likely be a mainstream feature in many homes across the country very soon.
