What Is Interior Color Correction? What Is Interior Color Correction?
Choosing an interior color for your home can be tricky, and can frequently have some less-than-desired outcomes. Color correction is a term that is used to refer to the process by which a color is adjusted using other colors to change the original. This technique is used in a variety of applications, from films to photography, and also in interior paint.
Interior Color Correction
There are a few different ways that an interior paint job can be corrected if the paint isn't quite right. It comes down to repainting, but before you do, there are a couple of tips that can help simplify the process. Utilize the people in the paint department of your local home improvement store to help identify colors that will neutralize what is unappealing about the color, whether it is too bright, too dark, or just not the right shade. Often a single coat of the new color will correct the problem. If a more dramatic change is needed, use a good primer, as this will make the new color more true and will require less coats of paint to achieve the new color. Try a sample on a scrap piece of drywall and bring it into the room that is to be painted to see it in the appropriate light.
