What is the best way to paint bathroom vanity cabinets?
Painting bathroom vanity cabinets is an inexpensive alternative to replacing aged cabinetry. First remove all door and drawer hardware. Then remove any flaked paint by scraping it away. Next sand the surface smooth. Clean away the dust and paint before continuing. Apply masking tape to the wall and floor around the vanity. Use a quick-drying primer, applying two coats. A satin or glossy enamel type of paint should be applied next, using a small roller rather than a paint brush, to avoid brush marks. Two coats are needed. If desired you can apply an antiquing glaze which will be wiped away while wet, then top the vanity with a coat or two of polyurethane.
