What is the easiest way to test my crankshaft position sensor? What is the easiest way to test my crankshaft position sensor?
The crankshaft position sensor is an electronic device used to measure the rate at which the crankshaft is spinning and this measurement is then used to control the ignition and fuel injection. This device is found in the engine. If you want to test the crankshaft position sensor then you will need to get a friend to help out as this is a two-person job. You will need to unplug the sensor connector and attach a digital volt meter by attaching the two leads to the two pins on the device. As your friend cranks the engine, you will be able to read the AC voltage reading; if there is no reading, the sensor is broken.
