Will subflooring warp and gather mildew in a finished basement? Will subflooring warp and gather mildew in a finished basement?

Subflooring can definitely gather mildew during the dampest of days. Depending on the type of subfloor, it is also possible that it will warp because of this. Make sure that you take good care of your finished basement, and always keep it dry. Especially during the wet months, you should always take extra care in keeping everything from getting wet. Use a dehumidifier, in order to prevent moisture from building up in your subflooring. Getting mildew trapped inside it will definitely have adverse effects on your flooring, and you will need to take it out and have it repaired. Not only is it costly, but it’s a lot of work too.
