Wood Recycling Wood Recycling
Wood recycling is a process that helps use up old wood instead of cutting down new trees. There are lots of ways to do this, and one of the most common is wood chipping. This form of wood recycling takes old wood, especially broken branches, and turns them into mulch for play grounds and gardens. Making wood chipping is very easy once you have the proper equipment.
- Step 1: Take advantage of a spring storm to gather up broken branches and sticks from your yard. Almost any form of wood can be used as long as it isn't too thick and doesn't have any metal stuck into it.
- Step 2: Rent a wood chipper and start putting the branches inside. This is a very dangerous piece of equipment so make sure you read the instructions first.
- Step 3: You should now have a large pile of wood mulch for your yard.
Wood Recycling Tips
Once you've gathered the mulch, you can use it for wood recycling. It is excellent in preventing weeds from growing up around bushes, and won't be as hard on your lawn mower as rocks. Start wood recycling by using 6 inches of wood mulch on your yard instead of buying it new.
