We were clueless as to how to approach this gazebo and what we could do as well as what would work. It had been left so long that we couldn't stain it again to look how it once did.
Although it's still not completely done I was surprised how well in my opinion it was and is turning out.
The before picture the wood is all wet so it looks a bit different. The after picture is only half way done approx. so far.
I first used a wood cleaner/brightner for prepping the wood to be painted. Home Depot for $13.00
I then chose a color (California Rustic) and bought it in BEHR's solid color stain.I was told I didn't need any primer with this stain especially since I was using the wood cleaner first and I purchased the one can for just under 45 dollars.
Paint supplies • Water • Solid Color Stain • Wood cleaner/brightener
The wood cleaner/brightener I used first
Then the Solid Color Stain I used (California Rustic)
Both these items were purchased at Home Depot and both are BEHR.
