This project comes from Woodsmith magazine, Issue 180. The magazine article called for cherry and cherry plywood as the main materials; I used red oak and oak plywood instead. The project is pretty straight forward and is modular in design making it fairly easy to construct and also to (eventually) move it into place. I haven't added up all the receipts yet, but I'm pretty sure the budget is going to be pushing $1000. The high quality brass hardware was pretty pricey ($250) and the beveled glass for the four doors added another $135.Late note: After adding everything up it comes to about $1280 including the HVLP spray gun I bought which will obviously be used for other projects.
Approx 35 bd ft of lumber • 4 sheets of 3/4"plywood • 2 sheets of 1/4"plywood • 5 pairs of drawer slides • 4 pieces of beveled glass • Set of 5 puck lights • And hardware for 6 doors and 4 drawers.
