My second tile project! I decided to take the carpet out of my dining room and replace it with tile. Because my house is 24 years old, it has begun squeaking in some places on the first story. After pulling up all the carpet, I screwed down the plywood the best I could and got rid of all squeaks. I installed the HardiBacker ,then designed the inlay to be specific to my table. I used slate "pavers" to border the inlay and then finished it off with a diagonal design. Using an aluminum straight edge trim worked GREAT to transition from the tile to the wood floor and from the tile to the carpet!Replaced all white trim with pine and varnished for natural look.
