Tools & Materials

  • Patience
  • 1 GalZinnser Primer sealer
  • 1 QtPearlescent Glaze
  • 1 Qtlatex polyurethane sealer
  • Smtube of 3hrmildew resistant caulk
  • Small rollers
  • Brushes
  • Paint pad for appling the polyurethane (works best)
  • Elbow grease

I researched alot on painting ceramic tile. I used 2 coats of primer and did a sponge pearlescent glaze over that followed by a poly sealer. I am so happy with the results and have received so many compliments on the new color. No more celery green! One thing to remember is to remove all old caulk completely and re-caulk after everything is painted, otherwise water may get underneath and start to bubble. Another tid bit, the tile must be completely clean before you paint. Allow the paint to fully cure for 4 days before using the shower area. Good Luck with your next project!
